Crater Lake is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. To get the true beauty travel down the Cleetwood Trail to the shoreline. Even better, reserve a boat tour to spend time on Wizard Island and circumnavigate the lake.

Near the riverfront in Guangzhou China stands this beautiful modern opera house designed by Zaha Hadid. It is really a strange but compelling shape, with impressive interior performances space for very large theatre shows. This photo was shot in the high noon sunny day, but the air quality there diffuses the sunlight immensely making for a sort of smoggy feel. Fortunately this was a weekday and less crowded because the area is a very popular public plaza that gets packed on the weekends.

The Monument to Soldier and Sailor is located on Khrustalny (Crystal) Cape Sevastopol, Crimea. It's height is 40 meters, and it was considered one of the biggest monuments of the Soviet Union.  Approval for the monument was first granted by the Soviet authorities in 1972, but construction did not begin until 1981. By 1988, funding had dried up and the statue stood unfinished for years. In 1990, the city council began moves to have the memorial designated as an “artistic failure” and dismantled, but after a campaign led by veterans, money was raised to complete the monument, which was finally officially inaugurated on May 8, 2007.

Going through the history of contemporary Iran, this point comes to the fore that during past centuries, Iranian dynasties picked different cities as their capital, one them was Qazvin.

This huge, beautifully restored Qajar-era caravanserai is now the design centre of Qazvin. The long, vaulted passages house independent artists showcasing exquisitely crafted wares (jewellery, paintings, ceramics, carpets etc) as well as galleries, coffee shops, restaurants and quiet, hidden courtyards perfect for relaxing.
