Rockers Muse have been honored by a British university for their contributions to music.
The Hysteria stars attended a graduation ceremony at the University of Plymouth in their native Devon, south west England, on Friday, where they were presented with honorary doctorate of arts awards. Band members Matt Bellamy, drummer Dom Howard and guitarist Chris Wolstenholme donned the traditional hat and gown attire for the ceremony, which was attended by the university's students and teachers alike.
Singer Bellamy says, "I'm pretty sure we're not worthy. It's nice to be part of something down here. "We never went to university so it really means a lot to us. Maybe now we can go around describing ourselves as doctors!"
And Howard admits the educational honor was an unusual accolade for them to receive. He adds, "Admittedly it's a bit different from the Kerrang Awards (U.K. music magazine awards)."

Did the fans in Eastern Europe greet you like the second coming of Depeche Mode?
Matt: The fans were brilliant. The intensity in Moscow - that was probably the most intense audience we've ever had. I remember asking the tour manager to turn all the house lights on during the last few songs because I wanted to see everything. The crowd were all going mental. And they gave me a telescope! Apparently, somewhere in an interview a few years ago I said that someone had given me a painting of me naked with a crow on my shoulder and the Russian fans felt a bit upset by it and wanted to make up for it, so they bought me a big telescope! It's a big, real, serious piece. I set it up when I got home and looked at the moon. Fucking hell. Have you ever looked at the moon throught a telescope? It's all mountains and stuff. It's unbelievable.
Dom: Not only you can see the craters, you can literally see where the meteor has hit and created a crater and sprayed dust everywhere and that's still there - it hasn't moved.
