According to TMZ, police have positively identified the two men they are currently questioning as the men seen on the surveillance video the night of the attack, and the men - who are brothers - are Nigerians who were both extras on Smollett's show "Empire". They are now being described by police as 'suspects'.
Smollett has identified his attackers as white. TMZ says they have confirmed that the two Nigerian brothers are black. Smollett said during his Good Morning America interview on Thursday that he is positive the two men on the video are the ones who attacked him.
The men left for Nigeria right after the attack but police ID'd them through phone and transportation records and were waiting for them at O'Hare airport when they returned Wednesday night.
The brothers' lawyer, Gloria Schmidt, says their home was raided and searched by police and that they are acquaintances of Smollett who have no idea why they are suspects: “When they first learned about what happened to him they were horrified. This is someone they know. This is someone they’ve worked with, so they don’t want to see somebody go through that.”
Sorry, everyone - I submitted this post 12 hours before it was posted, before the last post on this case was even up. I just woke up and am now updating with more current information.

The Jordan Peele produced anthology series for Youtube Premium is now available. Two of the six episodes are available to watch for free right now.
Synopsis: Weird City is set in the near future in the city of Weird, which has been physically divided into two halves and segregated by economic class: Above The Line, populated by Haves, and Below The Line, populated by Have-Nots. Each episode follows different individuals as they navigate life in the city.
Episode 1 stars Dylan O'Brien (Teen Wolf, The Maze Runner), Ed O'Neil (Modern Family, Married With Children), and Levar Burton (Star Trek TNG, Roots).
Stu (O'Brien) lives Above The Line but was born Below it, and thus was never assigned a romantic partner at birth. He uses a dating service that claims to find perfect matches, and is paired with Burt (O'Neill). Despite both men identifying as straight and their significant age difference, they form a friendship that quickly becomes a romantic relationship.
Episode 2 features Michael Cera and Rosario Dawson.
Kicked out of his Pomegranate Electrolyte Juice addiction support group and fired from his job, failure Tawny (Cera) joins ShapeCult gym hoping to find the acceptance he so desperately needs. Unfortunately, his psychotic obsession with approval puts him at odds with his gym trainer Delt (Dawson).
--------
The season features Dylan O'Brien, Ed O'Neill, Levar Burton, Michael Cera, Rosario Dawson, Auli’i Cravalho, Laverne Cox, Sara Gilbert, Gillian Jacobs, Hannah Simone, Malcolm Barrett, Steven Yeun, Awkwafina, and Yyvette Nicole Brown.
Youtube Premium was formerly Youtube Red (which presumably changed their name for obvious reasons).
Looks interesting. I think Youtube Premium wants to shake off the idea that their original content is just vloggers making their own shows (which kind of what it was initially, right?)

This is clearly an act of aggression. There are literally hundreds of photos to choose from. What did I ever do to you, Canada? https://t.co/3sAEARiTq4
Actor Chris Evans took to social media to ask ET Canada what he ever did for them to choose an unflattering photo of him for their story. He writes, “This is clearly an act of aggression. There are literally hundreds of photos to choose from. What did I ever do to you, Canada?”
I mean, Canada didn’t make you grow that ‘stache Chris. But I digress...
ONTD, have others posted unflattering photos of you online?
