About a year ago, social media troll and human pond scum Logan Paul bought a pet pig named Pearl. He believed she was a miniature pig but apparently didn't do his research into what the fuck he was buying and accidentally got a regular-sized one.

Pearl soon disappeared from his posts, only to resurface in a video that revealed her to be abandoned, neglected, and starved. She was rescued by The Gentle Barn, a nonprofit organization that saves abandoned farm animals.

According to The Gentle Barn, "From what we've been told, it's believed she was purchased originally from a breeder by an influencer. People often buy 'mini pigs' or 'teacup pigs' for clout online, believing they will stay small. When they inevitably grow very large and have many unexpected needs, they're sadly discarded."

Update: Logan Paul claims that once the pig got too big, he gave her to one of his neighbors and the neighbors gave it to some farmer, who abandoned it.

This 83 year old legend is going out the way he started...and he's using his own money to do it.

- He has in the last week lost key creative talent including its production designer and supervising art director. That’s on top of losing the entire visual effects team in the first part of December.

- The 120 million self financed budget has sky-rocketed even higher.

- Sources say Coppola initially employed new virtual production technology similar to that used on The Mandalorian. But as the challenges and costs of that approach have mounted, those sources say the production is attempting to pivot to a less costly, more traditional greenscreen approach.

- Sources say Coppola, who has never made an effects-heavy movie, fired almost his entire visual effects team Dec. 9, with the rest of that department soon following. Coppola famously fired his visual effects department on Dracula 30 years ago.

- Between firings and resignations, a source says the film now has no art department.

- Despite the crew exits, Coppola is pressing on, hiring new staff this week, according to sources.

- The film has no distributor as of yet.

• Husband Jeffrey had a successful career on Wall Street and served as the dean of Yale's business school

Marin Alsop, the conductor referenced by Cate Blanchett in T'AR, has slammed the film as "anti-woman."

"I first read about it in late August and I was shocked that that was the first I was hearing of it," Alsop said. "So many superficial aspects of T'AR seemed to align with my own personal life. But once I saw it I was no longer concerned, I was offended: I was offended as a woman, I was offended as a conductor, I was offended as a lesbian."

"To have an opportunity to portray a woman in that role and to make her an abuser — for me that was heartbreaking," Alsop said. "I think all women and all feminists should be bothered by that kind of depiction because it's not really about women conductors, is it? It's about women as leaders in our society. People ask, 'Can we trust them? Can they function in that role?' It's the same questions whether it's about a CEO or an NBA coach or the head of a police department."

She called the film anti-woman. "There are so many men — actual, documented men — this film could have been based on but, instead, it puts a woman in the role but gives her all the attributes of those men. That feels anti-woman. To assume that women will either behave identically to men or become hysterical, crazy, insane is to perpetuate something we've already seen on film so many times before."

16 years ago today, on January 9th 2007, Steve Jobs unveiled Apple's very first iPhone at the Macworld 2007 convention at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The iPhone incorporated a 3.5-inch multi-touch display with few hardware buttons, and ran the iPhone OS operating system with a touch-friendly interface, then marketed as a version of Mac OS X. It launched on June 29, 2007, at a starting price of US$499 in the United States, and required a two-year contract with Cingular (now AT&T). The iPhone would remain exclusive to Cingular/AT&T for 4 years until 2011. It would change the mobile phone game forever, and ended the careers of the Sidekick, Blackberry, Nokia, Motorola RAZR, among several others.

Welp, Paramount + decided to cancel the Workaholics movie. Obviously, this news is the loosest butthole. We were supposed to begin filming in 5 weeks! P + told us don’t fit their new “global” strategy…We are deeply butt hurt about this decision because we were so excited to bring the weird one last time. I’m butt hurt that I don’t get to work with my best friends again. I’m butt hurt for the fans, and I’m butt hurt for our loyal crew, and other cast members who are now going to have to scramble to find new jobs. We are out to other streamers, and hopefully we will get to make this insanely fun movie somewhere else.

Paul Mescal, fresh off landing a starring role in the sequel to Gladiator, will reportedly replace Blake Jenner in Richard Linklater's adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's musical "Merrily We Roll Along." (according to sources). Ben Platt and Beanie Feldstein were cast in 2019. Jenner exited the project after he was revealed to be an abuser by Melissa Benoist.
Back in 2019, sources indicated that the film would be shot in reverse chronological order, as the play and musical end when the characters are in their mid-20s and just embarking on their entertainment careers.
As per the article, Mescal's character:
Franklin Shepard, a talented Broadway composer who abandons his theater career in New York and all his friends in order to produce movies in Los Angeles. Like the play, the musical begins at the height of his Hollywood fame and moves backward in time, showing snapshots of the most important moments in Frank’s life that shaped the man he went on to become. Feldstein will play Frank’s best friend, theater critic Mary Flynn, while her real-life pal Platt will play Charley, Frank’s regular lyricist.
Linklater took 12 years to film Boyhood, which earned him writing, directing, and producing Oscar noms.

23-time Major champion Serena Williams was baptized on Sunday as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Williams, 41, was raised as a Jehovah's Witness by her family. For the uninitiated, Jehovah's Witnesses are a sub-sect of Christianity and have a membership of almost nine million people.

In addition to rejecting the Christian doctrine of the Holy Trinity, the denomination also prohibits observing holidays like Easter, Christmas, birthdays, or any festival with pagan origins. Williams and her family members do not observe any of these traditional Christian festivals.
