Jennifer Lopez has faced some backlash for being chosen to lead the Motown tribute at the Grammy’s last night. She released a statement to Entertainment Tonight:
“The thing about music is that it inspires all. Any type of music can inspire any type of artist. You can’t tell people what to love. You can't tell people what they can and can’t do, what they should sing or not sing. You gotta do what’s in your heart.”
Jennifer also said that Grammys producers and Motown legend Berry Gordy were happy that she did the tribute. She said that she was humbled at their offer and that she was greatly influenced by the music.
Jennifer said she did the performance for her mother and that "It’s just a dream come true."

Melissa Benoist and Chris Wood as the Supergirl co-stars-turned-real-life-couple revealed they are engaged. They first met on the set of Supergirl, when Wood joined the cast as Mon-El, a LI for Kara Danvers. Their on-screen romance eventually lead to a love story in real-life.
Benoist, 30, was previously married to her Glee co-star Blake Jenner. After exchanging vows in 2013, Benoist filed for divorce in late 2016. Their divorce was finalized in December 2017.

Ellen Page responds to criticisms of her comments on Chris Pratt’s silence on his anti-LGBTQ church.
Chris Pratt goes to Zoe Church, which was based on the anti-LGBTQ church Hillsong. His pastor Chad Veach, told the NY Times in March 2018 that he created his church after Hillsong.
In August 2015, Hillsong global pastor Brian Houston said that his church is “a gay welcoming church but we are not a church that affirms a gay lifestyle.”
If you are a famous actor and you belong to an organization that hates a certain group of people, don’t be surprised if someone simply wonders why it’s not addressed. Being anti LGBTQ is wrong, there aren’t two sides. The damage it causes is severe. Full stop. Sending love to all
If lgbtq+ people are expressing their pain, their trauma, their experiences...maybe just try and listen? Open your heart, stop being defensive and have compassion. It’s a beautiful and life changing feeling, empathy. Much love truly to all.
Drake used his acceptance speech for the Best Rap Song to denounce the entire idea of the Grammys.
"We play in an opinion-based sport, not a factual based sport. It's not the NBA where at the end of the year you're holding the trophy because you made the right decision or won the games. You’ve already won if you have people singing your songs word for word, if you’re a hero in your hometown. Look, if there's people who have regular jobs coming out in the rain, in the snow, spending their hard-earned money to buy tickets to come to your shows. You don't need this right here. I promise you, you already won."
The producers at the Grammys eventually heard enough and cut the rapper's speech short.
Grammys clarified that producers did not intentionally cut off Drake “During Drake’s speech, there was a natural pause and at that moment the producers did assume that he was done and then cut to commercial. However the producers did speak with Drake following his speech and did offer him to come back on stage to finish whatever his thoughts were. But Drake said he was happy with what he said and didn’t have anything to add.”
