Что такое здесь poof? Мне кажется "взрывать" - но кажется на уровне интуиции...
It seems in this context to poof to Earth means to suddenly just appear on it out of nowhere, (like Star Trek "beams" themselves places). For example you can disappear out of no where *poof*.
They destroyed the bridge apparently because they made a bad landing to Earth, instead of just poofing to Earth as they usually do.
Tysia, I don't know if you can find a straight translation. The word "poof" is not a verb, but the author used it as a verb in this sentence. So it's kind of made-up.
I think the best equivalent is appear/появляться. "We usually just APPEAR on Earth."
