DESCRIPTION: One lodge is set conspicuously apart from four others. Medicine Woman gives last minute advice to the young initiate before he undertakes his vision quest. She stands patiently in the winter cold, protected by deerskin clothing and wrapped in a red blanket, and encourages him to enter the initiation lodge. He stands tensely, enveloped in his beaver turban and blanket, gripping objects of power. The tobacco ties portrayed in the Six of Sacred Circles are now hung outside the lodge to invoke the protection of the guardian spirits during the young man's vision quest. The skull and antlers of a stag guard the lodge entrance.
