В начале 60-х годов 20 века Россию посетил индийский санскритолог Дурга Прасад Шастри. После двух недель он сказал переводчику (Н.Гусева): Stop translating! I understand what you are saying. You are speaking here some corrupted form of the Sanskrit! (Не надо переводить! Я понимаю, что вы говорите. Вы говорите на измененной форме санскрита!). Вернувшись в Индию он опубликовал статью о близости русского и санскрита.
