Sid Vicious

Sid was born near London on a Spring day, but didn’t have a happy childhood. His father wasn’t around most of the time, and he ended up dropping out of school at a young age. His mother, Anne Beverley, had a history of heroin abuse herself, and Sid left home to go live on the streets. Much of England was in a state of upheaval, and Sid was in awe of the punk rock music scene that he saw on the streets in London. He began hanging around with the punks, and was soon taken under the wing of Malcolm McLaren. McLaren owned a punk clothing shop in downtown London, and he had started a band called the Sex Pistols.
