Робин Элей (Robin Eley) родился в Лондоне в 1978 году. Когда Робину было около 3 лет, его семья мигрировала сначала в Австралию, а затем в 1997 году переехала в США, в штат Калифорния. Обучение он проходил в колледже Вестмонт (Westmont), получив там степень «бакалавра» изобразительных искусств. В 2002 году он вернулся в Австралию, где и сейчас живет со своей женой Рейчел. За свои работы Робин Элей награжден в Австралии престижной Национальной портретной премией Doug Moran.

Robin Eley is a British born, Australian personality with American studies. parents Chinese and Australian. at the age of 3 he moved to Australia and then study his carreer in the States. 

He’s art is a clear example of hyper-realism, and when you notice they are paintings, you gotta look back at them, cause you won’t believe it.

The paintings are made of oil paint in Belgium linen. Robin likes perfection at the point he spends 5 weeks on each painting 90 hours a week! 

The purpose of the art is to make a connection between the painting and viewer and just for a while that the viewer feels isolation, feels lonelyness and for the viewer everything dissappears, but the painting.

Since his fathers are a clear example of isolation, because they both were living in a foreign country, apart from their people, their traditions, etc. They became connected by a universal feeling… LOVE. which Robin Eley is the product.

Eley, is the product of 2 isolated human beings, but now isolation is different, because of the internet and social networks. Eley thinks that the new reality is that we are always connected, even if we don’t have the intention, for example we don’t need to ask someone “how are you?”, because we already know, or where are them.
