I'm playing Persona 3 FES right now and I can't help doodling some comics during my experience!! Haven't actually finished playing it yet so... consider these like my own "walkthrough" or something.
Please don't spoil me for anything that happens later!! I'm doing a perfectly fine job of it myself, reading youtube comments of all things fff

I enjoy the battle system a lot more than in Persona 4, but it's bummer that you can't really be friends and hang out with your team mates. :I At least, not with all of them. And not from the beginning.



I'm not actually playing in hard mode (it's normal), but my bro is and he dies about every ten minutes on average, it's true!

[Knights Errant] – littlemute's new Renaissance-flavored comic! The art's gorgeous and the dialog charming.

[Goodbye Chains] - set in the American West featuring a duo consisting of a con artist and a communist. An overall neat package, and trecomics just recently completed the second act, so now would a good time to start reading.

[What the Duck] - in classic strip format, pretty cute and holds very true for many freelancing situations.

[OGLAF] - not-worksafe. Short stories set in historical and fantasy settings with often naughty twists to them.

Otherwise I have finally discovered audio books for myself, they're the best thing for when I spend many hours just sitting down and working or drawing. I especially enjoy the Sherlock Holmes ones read by John Telfer, man is a good voice actor, can imitate Brit and American accents, even little girls' voices without sounding too ridiculous (incidentally I'm also watching the Holmes Granada TV series, A++).
For German speakers I can recommend Das Parfum, sehr angenehme Stimme und gute Performance, sprachlich ist das Buch auch sch"on.
Not so much fond of performances with a whole cast of different speakers, at least I haven't found an example I like yet.

Comic is my favorite media, and I'd say it's followed by literature even though I haven't been reading thaat much over the past few years. 'Film' should be closer to 'comic', but somehow I like 'books' a little more. I don't know why.

The question on whether one could tell which manga styled comic was obviously Japanese or not - depending on the artwork alone - has been a point of interest on some German forums; some even set up quizzes on their blogs with sample pages for others to guess the country of origin. Here's one online quiz that poses the same challenge, feel free to have a go at it yourself! I didn't do anything to set it up technically, thanks to Noriko_Amandola who did. It's been awhile that I drew this comic for the 'Subway to Sally Storybook', but here's a vid I found that plays the song with my pictures accompanying it! (unfortunately not the best version of the song, which I can't find atm)
Warning it's morbid, summary: dude gets hanged.



There's a million things that make me uncomfortable art-wise now (and the loooong zoomup to that FACE) but I did make it an effort to time my pix with the music as well as I could.
Also I'm aware that hanging people that way is highly unrealistic, but if reading hundreds of manga has taught me anything it's that sometimes you do things just for dramatic effect; not like you're gonna try it at home I hope.

I was in Empress Elisabeth's museum lately so I felt like deforming her image into manga style. All the same person, one as a young free girl in Bavaria, then a translated version of the famous painting in the white dress, then she in her later years when she wasn't doing quite as well.

One Outs is finished, all subs are out! It's a satisfying end but I hope for a second season, needs more people getting their egos crushed.

I'm still following Saki though only by fast forwarding the episode and stopping only when I see mahjong tiles.

The artist of Emma has a new series, Young Bride's Story ie. Otoyomegatari. As expected of Mori it's very detailed and beautifully drawn, and I much prefer the middle Eastern/Mongolian/Silk Road setting over Victorian England. I'm not sure where the story is going, there's some plot mixed with detailed depicitons of nomands' daily lives. This is not a spoiler because this setup is introduced on the very first pages:


making sense of this arrangement makes my head hurt, maybe the author wants to express that this tribe is entirely fictional? (Aside from her being a shotacon) Or, she wants to address early age marriages, and chose this because the more common adult man/young girl setup would only attract the wrong crowd. In any case Amira really is quite awesome.

So today I got a colorful propaganda comic in the mail from Austria's leading right wing party, just in time for the upcoming EU elections. 60 pages (!), the art isn't entirely horrible for it's purpose, says "volume 1" on the cover, they really went to town. There are no imprint details as to who had a hand in it's creation, the 'editorial' page (disclaiming with "this is not propaganda! It's just FYI :-)") bears an illustration with a very professional style.

I'm still young enough so they sent it to me! Btw in Austria you're already allowed to vote at age 16.

The title of the comic is "The Blue Planet" - the blue referring to the color associated with the right wing party, FP"O. The dark haired man is the hero of the story, modeled after the hip and popular leader of the party, HC Strache.
The green creature is a depiction of the opposition, the Green Party. Slogan panel 2: "In our hearts the country – in our heads: shit"
The city in the background is a worst case scenario AU of Vienna, decorated with Islamic symbols and rainbow flags (not in that scan), filled with foreign language shop signs and otherwise covered in filth.

I've been on a roll with making colorful pix! I'd nearly forgotten how fun copic markers are.


Moritz (the leery one), Nemo and Rosa.

I don't like drawing characters without any kind of backstory to them, but I also don't like presenting characters of mine that haven't had their story drawn out yet. So I came up with these three solely to make them pose prettily in color. These are my new playthings.



Rosa and Moritz can walk on their own, but this way of transport is much more convenient (and cheaper). And since Nemo isn't complaining...




They are being pursued! And those two still won't walk on their own!! Good thing Nemo's fast enough for all of 'em.
Also Moritz is naturally posing that way because he's aiming at a Very Low point.

The pursuer has many scales.

The green creature is a water sprite!
