Probably best known for fancy foxes, sleek snakes, and a general love for wildlife, Culpeo's work includes illustrations for books, card games, board games, greeting cards, and logos.When not drawing, the artist can often be found obsessing over books and movies, enjoying both Italian and Chinese food, listening to good music, and searching for snakes, birds, and amphibians in the great outdoors with partner-in-crime and muse RF Skia. Crate Details"I probably just did what I do best," Culpeo says — resulting in a python accompanied by a falcon. The piece is quite personal, the artist shares, "['Knotting Hill' is] dedicated to the most significant person in my life, since DeviantArt is the place where we met 13 years ago." As for any other details about the creation, well, "I don't like to brag about my art much as I think it should speak for itself; my work is pretty much done. The rest is all up to the audience," Culpeo confirms. The crate also includes a time-lapse video, showcasing the different stages of the artwork. There is also a written tutorial, as both can help the viewer to understand and grasp the process, and both assets allow those who learn by watching or by reading to each take part in the process. If any aspiring artists are concerned they don't have the equipment necessary to make great art, Culpeo is reassuring: "To create a piece of art, you don't have to own the newest tablet, the best drawing program, the most expensive supplies, or a huge studio. I don't either. I use a simple pencil, an average piece of paper, Adobe Photoshop CS2 (which is pretty ancient) and my 'art studio' is my couch.
