This zoo used to focused mostly on Owls and Birds of Prey, but they're expanding more and more into Mammals. Still, it was a surprise to see a Dik-Dik here Quite unexpected, but indeed, very pleasant because we love them.

Species: Kirks Dik-Dik (Kirks Dikdik)

Latin name: Madoqua Kirkii

Originates from eastern and southwestern Africa.

Current status: Least Concern

Did you know:

& The Kirks Dik-dik hooves have rubbery undersides, so they can effectively travel over rocky terrain.

& Behavioral studies suggests these small ungulates are monogamous.
