Day 12: Crab

" The most common of Crustaceanoids, they can be found in tropical climates having many species with different shapes, sizes, and colors. Crab mermaids, or Crabataurs as some call them, are usually omnivores that will often scavenge for food mostly decaying plants and animals.

Crab mermaids are tough yet quite nimble as they can scuttle away rather quickly, especially on land from species. Along with having tough carapaces and swift movement, Crab mermaids can defend themselves by clamping onto foes with bone fracturing grip strength.

However as tough as they are, they're still preyed upon by other predatory merfolk, sea creatures, and humans quite often. Humans find Crab mermaids incredibly tasty, usually broiled and served with butter or making small biscuits of their meat known as Crab Cakes.
