Volus Frigates

A small squadron of Volus Accipiter class frigates.

Originally built by the Turians as a small Corvette size warship to patrol around space station perimeters.

As a client race of the Turian Hierarchy, the Volus got the blueprint of the Accipiter class and build a dozen of them by themself with different modifications such as additional weapon turrets and a much more automatization to run the ship with a smaller crew and to compensate the weaker Volus physis. The Volus classificate the Accipiter as frigate type.

Not all, but some of the Accipiter classes were equiped with Stealth systems for Spec-Ops Missions.

In many ways, Accipiter corvettes existed just to have a ship or two (or ten) available; being smaller and more lightly armed meant that they were cheaper and faster to construct as bigger ships like Frigates or Cruisers. More ships means one can control a larger area of space or act quicker in a emergency case.
