With new snowfall the landscape is layered in white. The creek as well, but it only begins to cover the water. Once the cold adds a layer of ice, and the current slows to a trickle, only then will the waters be covered.

I discovered this scenic winter world by riding through the woods paralleling the roads. To do this I had to bring out my winter off road bicycle, with wider, low pressure, inflated tires. The bicycle is light enough to carry when the going gets rough, but nimble enough to forge a path.
