Yours truly posing heroically on the famous Luding Qiao, a chain-link bridge across the Dadu He at Luding in China's Sichuan province. The conquest of this bridge in 1935 by the Communist forces of the Eighth Route Army, under the supreme command of Mao Zedong, proved to be a defining moment of the Long March and the struggle for power in China.
