Ever since I made Leia, the Terradragon a year ago, I've been interested in trying to make a dragon with a glass-like body, and now I finally have! I love the versatility of polymer clay, but you just cannot get a completely clear, glassy look with it. The solution was to make the body out of resin. I added the other body parts on top with polymer clay. The truly surprising part was how well the clay stuck to the resin. I expected everything would fall apart after baking and I'd have to glue it all together, but the clay just stayed where it was.

I did a bit of a purple to silver glitter gradient on the fluffy bits. I find sculpting fluff to be quite difficult, but I'm pleased with how it turned out on this dragon.

Crafted from Premo polymer clay, resin, and bugle beads. This dragon has been sold.
