Process notes:

I've been trying to get more comfortable with digital work this summer, and these Tailed Blue Skipper butterfly mages were part of that effort!

Unusually for me up to this summer, there was no traditional media component for this. With this image I was trying out CSP's vector layer features for inking. I have mixed feelings about this - it's a great way to have very smooth, clean lines and to adjust their weight and texture at any point in the drawing process, but it doesn't feel particularly natural to me. In paintings and drawings I've done since, I've stuck to raster modes. I might give this a shot again some time though, since it does produce very clean line art.
