- Memory -This is based off a photo from a vacation during my childhood. We went on a cruise that stopped around several Caribbean islands and Mexico. My favorite spot was Tulum, Mexico, home to a well-preserved ancient Mayan city.
Although not pictured here, I really enjoyed exploring the ruins, especially since I was obsessed with Mesoamerican cultures as a kid. Maybe someday I'll do an artwork of the ruins since I have a few photos. Other than that, my memory of the trip is mostly a blur.
- Technical details -This is my first ever painting done in SAI2! I put it off for years because the updated interface scared me away and I don't like change. But really, it's mostly the same. A few minor inconveniences here and there, but so far the pros highly outweigh the cons. The ruler tool is a godsend. Plus, it's much easier to import brushes and textures (no tedious notepad file meddling) and there's a pretty neat toolbar feature that previews your current brush.
I would like to resume my regular photo studies and post them here. This one is a bit rough around the edges, but it's a milestone painting (new software!) so I will make an exception. I already have another study that I'm really excited to post, now that I've got some all-around practice in.
