40K calories

A concept which was suggested anonymously that I decided I would give a go.
Based on the Adepta Sororitas of the Warhammer 40K universe.

I originally thought It would be some fun sketch practice but decided I'd go all the way with it. I'm really not a fan of 40K as a whole but the concept seemed fun and the aesthetics would make for an interesting challenge. There are a lot more details than I would normally bother with so it made the entire venture quite tedious. The brush I used to ink the image has an unfortunate amount of scatter and transparency to it that I thought would give a pencil-like feel to the image, but just made everything really uneven and difficult to color. Ah well, lesson learned.
Perspective is still a bit whack and of course the lighting. It's abundantly clear to me that I need to put some serious focus on rendering the texture for all the material because everything has a flat plastic look to it, but this image was ambitious enough as it was that it's a consideration I'd rather hold off on to attempt with something a bit easier and simpler in the future. There's a long way to go yet before I can reach the quality of real Warhammer artists, but that's all part of the fun.
