As you wake up, the night sky greets you. Stars blinking in and out of view
with the moon peeking out timidly amidst curtain-like grey clouds. You feel
your head swim as you attempt to stand, hand reaching out in an attempt
to steady yourself with something. You found purchase on a rough wooden
trunk on a huge tree whose branches swayed with the wind, its leaves gently
dancing with the breeze on its short journey from its parent to the earth below.
Your eye catches something, a flicker of light, unnatural and beautiful as it
changes into multi colored hues before fading out of existence. Your eyes
follow it as it disappears and blinked twice, even thrice, not believing what
your eyes tell you to be real. In the middle of this clearing, a girl floated in
the air holding her hands near her chest as if in prayer or deep contemplation,
her face calm and serene with a huge star shaped patch covering one of her
eyes. Her hair as with the lights around her seemed to change with every
movement in gradients of purple and blue, swaying and flowing as if she
was submerged in a sea of peace but ever shifting tides of aetheric energies.
Her uncovered eye opened slowly, almost wearily. Her blue elegant tail swung
sideways slowly as her features slowly shifted. The lights around her flickered
more as their mistress stirred and you find yourself looking and beholding but
not understanding the multiple strands of possibilities. The what if's and the
what could be shifting and morphing and disappearing as the lights changed
hues and dissipated. "You are here" a voice reached your ears, you turned
back to see this mysterious girl, staring straight at you with a sweet yet faint
smile on her face, her delicate looking arms stretched forth towards you with
a gesture seemed as if she was inviting you to take her hand to dance on some
grand ball amidst the stars and the heavens.
"The question now is ... will you come with me?".
Clearly she wasn't human, but despite your reservations you did not have it in
you to say no.
