Technically, this was both an idea and drawing that I eventually came up with after taking in TaylorSwitch64's rendition of the bear and bird being portrayed in the official 2D Mario art-style. So if anything, I'd highly check out his content afterwards, given how much of an talented artist he truly is on both DA and Twitter alike~!

Other than that being the case with the main origins of this drawing when it did came to mind, overall I just have been seeing recent attempts on what Banjo would've looked like if he were to be drawn in a few of the other Mario art-styles in particular--such as him and Kazooie being portrayed in the Mario Strikers Charged art-style, which did look rather neat. As well as a pretty good touch to how he could've looked donning such uniform and armor combination if Rare was bought out by Nintendo, and if Nintendo themselves devoted the bear himself to appear in more main-line and spin-off Mario titles in particular~

And because of that, well...I was left with the impact upon drawing the duo in various Mario art-styles myself--starting off with the main one as an introduction. And honestly, I wouldn't recall them looking too bad in this style. In fact, I think that it quite fits them in the end~! ;u;
(Although you could just assume I may be saying that, because of how satisfied I am with the ending result on this.)

Also decided to add a bit of a background to further add to the illustration, to which I decided to base it off of one of the few background designs from Super Mario 3D World--a game that had a mixture between both 3D art and 2D art in one package. However, instead of adding miniature sized character artworks in the back, I instead went with the usual checkered pattern--given how much I've grown to adore this design choice. Also, let's not forget the fact that I've also added a bit of flavoring to the trimming of it as well--emblems that I've made dedicated to the bear and bird themselves, as the Jiggies were meant to associate with Banjo as I'd often see them being a recurring emblem for him...as well as a feather for Kazooie, since she has the capability of making use of them in the two original B-K titles, as well as is a literal bird.

However, with that being said, I do hope that others enjoy this piece from me~!
