The prairie is a dynamic environment of life, even today, though in days long gone, it was I am told, even more so. But even now, life is virtually in every square inch. Even in winter, when there is silence, it is as if the prairie is just holding its breath, waiting for warm days to burst into existence and to loudly proclaim "I am, again"
