To follow the Echydna > Medusa > ... narrative, I decided to portrait Kraken next. HOWEVER: Perseus didn't use Medusa's head to kill the Kraken. As a matter of fact Kraken is a part of Norwegian mythology, not the Greek, and we only associate Kraken with Perseus because of the Clash of Titans movie.
I discovered that the monster sent to kill Andromeda was therefore, not the Kraken, but the sea serpent Cetus (not sent by Hades, but by Poseidon). It probably was a whale. It is described as fishlike, serpentine, with a long muzzle.
So, I pictured it in that moment where it is being petrified after looking at the face of medusa. The upper side of its body is already stone, whilst the tail is still green and slippery. The head of Medusa (based in the Medusa medal I posted earlier) hangs in the air, sustained by a human hand (imagine that Perseus is in top of a cliff or still riding Pegasus (though Pegasus was born from Medusa's blood and therefore should not be there, he was ridden by Beleforonte in the Chimera legend).
