Nobody expected it, that's for sure. Most dark magic is greatly weakened by the light, and no mages were known to be nearly powerful enough to summon significantly less powerful creatures during the daylight hours in a cloudless sky. No traces of the caster were found afterward, and no incidents such as that have occurred for the past hundred years.

Ugggggh 21 hours of rendering and it's still grainy Additionally, this is probably the first time I've actually used Photoshop to remove some ugly circle near the mage's head, so huzzah for new and unusual things!
