I LOVE apples, specially this time of the year, i am busy making apple sauces, dehydrate my garden apple - cut into circle slices, then dehydrate them in my food dehydrator (a huge hit in my family), apple breads....and on and on and on...
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 TB light corn syrup
- 1 8 oz dark chocolate, break into small pieces
- ¼ cup water
- ¼ cup butter
- ¼ cup whipping cream
- 1 TB sour cream
- ¾ tsp. coarse sea salt
Instructions
- In a pot, combine sugar, corn syrup and water over medium-high (mine was on medium) heat
DO NOT STIR
- Cook for about 10 minutes or until the sugar turns a dark caramel color.
- Keep it on the heat and add the remaining ingredients. Whisk until smooth.
- Serve with sliced apples (This step is optional - rinsed your apple slices in salted water for no more than one minute. This step truly brings out the sweetness of the apples).
- Pour into a heatproof container. The caramel sauce can be kept in your refrigerator for more than a month.
More apple stuff....
