Traditional drawing of Tom Hiddleston on gray paper. That's my first drawing on gray paper, but I already bought this kind of paper (gray and also black) more than 18 months ago. Of course I use my usual "test subject", when I test something new...
I did this drawing with 5 pencils (black and white colored pencils + pastels and a white gel pen). It was very interesting and fun even though most of the black pastel pencil ended up on my hands. I really wanted to use tissues for blending, but in the end I just used my fingers... ok, now I need to buy a fixative!

Reference was a picture from a photoshoot (Desmond Muckian for the Guardian).

Gray paper DIN A4; Faber-Castell Polychromos artists' colour pencils (101 + 199), Faber-Castell Pitt Pastel (101 + 199), uni-ball Signo pigment ink um-153 white; time: ~7 hours
