A nice limestone peninsula juts away from the main cliff to provide a nice vantage point of the northern Big Horn basin in Wyoming. This location is located north of Hunt Mountain near a slightly higher point which is un-named. The green colors of spring provide a cheery lookout onto the mountain parks below the rim. Far in the distance bands of dark red hills of Chugwater Formation contrast against the gray sagebrush rolling hills. In the far, far distance of the opening view are the Apsaroke Mountains of Wyoming adjoining the Beartooth Mountains of Montana although they are difficult to see through the summer haze. However, rotate your view about 120 degrees to the left and you can see Wyoming's second highest mountain - Cloud Peak - rising to 4013 m / 13167 ft.
