The Pit~oes das J'unias waterfall, in the heart of the Peneda-G^eres National Park, is supplied by the crystalline waters that pass by the Santa Maria das J'unias Monastery. It has a first drop of about 30 meters followed by several others that allow a refreshing dip during the summer. This whole scenario is surrounded by a beautiful centenary oak. To reach the waterfall, just go to Pit~oes and head to the car park to access the waterfall, following a short pedestrian path of about 600 meters, and part of a wooden walkway. In the vicinity of this waterfall there is a centenary oak, which over the centuries has been the target of several local legends such as that of an elf living there, and also a wooden bridge.

We are close to the Paradela reservoir, in the Peneda Ger^es National Park, between the village of Paredes do Rio and the C'avado River, which rises in the Serra do Larouco and empties into Esposende

The watchtower, built in 1492, is located on the 216 m high Binselberg and is with its bricked pointed cone helmet, the cast core and the loopholes a landmark for the entire region. The tower is 22 m high. In 1992 it was restored and made accessible again. In 2008 the municipality of Schaafheim fundamentally redesigned the area around the tower.

St Mary's Cathedral on a beautiful spring day photographed from Sydney's Hyde Park across College Street. Gothic-style Catholic cathedral built of local sandstone from 1868-1928. The spires completed with the assistance of a grant from the Government to mark the new millennium, the spires were eventually built in 2000
