Drew Lee Temple chose a different goal to score in his life, when he picked up film. Today thought of as the new John Singleton (of'Boyz in the Hood' fame) in the making, Temple is close to finishing a full length feature film,'Sunday', and has earned a massive following on his Instagram webpage that is nearing 100K fans. That's like a stadium that is full, and they are there to watch hands and his eyes create the same magic.

Temple is currently creating future works and his films in Kansas City, Missouri. He received a full athletic football scholarship at Mizzou after attending Rockhurst High School. He then was watching twenty films each day, attracted on the screen, which he believed could make a difference to the community. Temple decided to turn down the scholarship, looking forward to making films to change his generation's culture so that everybody could dream of success in many careers. Black athletes there are many, but only a few artists, scientists and other specialists, he thought.

The journey began with his production home, Blue Shade Movies in 2011, which generated notable shorts beginning with'Boxing', a feature's Death on the little known background and life of Mike Tyson. Short films create a sense of engagement, and Temple went on to create five distinct films. ' Black People' spoke against slavery that was psychological,'6 foot 6' revealed an inner city kid fighting to change his situation, and'32' explored a highly recruited high school football player. The other two were'Scary Film' (featuring Hollywood star Keith Loneker), a suspense horror set in a small city, and'Juiced', a film about three young students from Kansas City caught up in gun violence.

"Making films is a group effort, and if it was not for my videographers, PAs, and awesome cast, there wouldn't be a movie. I can't thank my cast and crew enough for all the love and support. Making each movie has been a perfect storm and I am thankful," says Temple.

Temple's debut feature length film,'Sunday' is under creation by his company. The movie tells the story of an Academy Award winner, who goes to market the film while being in debt. 'Sunday' is scheduled to be ready in October 2018, and Temple intends to sell it in the American Film Market, in Santa Monica.

Drew Lee Temple can be followed on his Instagram page for news and updates on his present and future ventures. He's currently attending the University of Missouri at Kansas City, where he will graduate with a BA in Media & Film Arts in May.
