И все-таки, что бы ни говорили всякие лентяи, что книги "для ботанов" и читать "не стоит", книги - одно из величайших творений человека.

Приятно осознавать, что в наше время, несмотря на то, что читать во многом "не модно", и многие предпочитают посмотреть телевизор или посидеть в Интернете, все еще довольно много людей читают. Подтверждение этому - хотя бы множество людей с книгами в транспорте (в метро, электричках..), или, например, достаточно большое количество народа в книжных магазинах (особенный ажиотаж в день скидок, ага:)

Люди выбирают книги по-разному. Кто-то ищет старые, раритетные книги, кто-то - просто красивые издания, кто-то - чтоб удобно было возить с собой, чтобы почитать в дороге. Лично я чаще всего руководствуюсь последним принципом, но, когда я в последний раз была в книжном (закупалась очередными английскими книжками на лето), я запала на коллекционные издания. Большие и маленькие. С золоченными страничками и закладочками...

Захотела собрать нечто подобное. Большой коллекции начало положено - полный "Шерлок Холмс" уже имеется. Но очень хотелось бы собрать и "карманную" коллекцию. Разве не прекрасна полка, уставленная плотно книжками из одной серии?:)

Hope of Delieverance

Сегодня не удержалась, сделала чизкейк.
Существует огромное количество рецептов этого десерта, но я взяла один из самых простых.


Для этого понадобится:
500 грамм творога
200 грамм печенья (типа "Юбилейного")
120 грамм сливочного масла или маргарина
0,5 стакана сахара
2 ст.л. сахарной пудры
2 яйца
100 грамм сметаны
3 ст.л. молока

Но это по рецепту. У меня противень (как выяснилось) оказался чуть больше, чем у автора рецепта, поэтому в моем случае вышло чуть больше сахара, сметаны и творога.

Итак:

1.

Готовим заранее форму, т.е. смазываем растительным маслом и выкладываем бумагу для выпечки. Вместо бумаги можно посыпать панировочными сухарями или манкой, что я и сделала (с сухарями)

2.

Делаем корж-основу. Измельчаем печеньки в крошку, растапливаем масло/маргарин, смешиваем с печеньем. Выкладываем ровным и (внимание) плотным слоем в форму.

3.

Смешиваем молоко с сахарной пудрой и выливаем на корж. Честно говоря, не знаю, зачем это делается, но, по-видимому, это что-то вроде пропитки.

4.

Готовим основную часть - творожный крем. Смешиваем творог, сметану, яйца и сахар, взбиваем миксером, получаем творожный крем. Выкладываем его в форму, выравниваем.

5.

Ставим в предварительно разогретую до 170 градусов духовку (в моем случае - аэрогриль) на час. После того, как торт запечется, дать остыть, затем поставить в холодильник на пару часов. Украсить вареньем, тертым шоколадом или всем, чем хотите. И можно кушать:)

Хочу заметить, что до предела форму заполнять не следует, крем во время запекания поднимается. Но потом опадет.
И еще...Моя ошибка в том, что бока формы надо было тоже печеньем залепливать)
В принципе, с этим рецептом тоже можно поэкспериментировать. Например, добавить в творог мой любимый ванилин. Он еще на моей памяти ни разу ничего не портил;)

Что касается вкуса получившегося тортика...Весьма вкусно:) Может, не такой нежный, как в кафе, но тоже вкусный.

На днях завершила книжку американского писателя Трумана Капоте, и вот пара слов о впечатлениях от прочитанного.

Прежде всего, откуда же я узнала про этого автора? Не так давно я посмотрела фильм "Завтрак у Тиффани" с легендарной Одри Хепберн, и именно он (фильм) заинтриговал меня. Сразу же захотелось прочитать эту книгу, и непременно в оригинале. И вскоре я ее нашла. В издание (кроме, собственно, "Завтрака...") вошли 3 небольших рассказа: "House of Flowers" ("Цветочный Дом"), "A Diamond Guitar" ("Бриллиантовая Гитара") и "A Christmas Memory" ("Воспоминания об одном Рождестве"). Но обо всем по порядку.

Итак, "Завтрак у Тиффани". Милая, романтичная история об этакой "девочке-видении", которая находится в вечном поиске "своего места". Она окружена множеством влиятельных людей, которые в какой-то мере ей восхищаются, несмотря на ее взбалмошность и странность. В общем, не буду увлекаться пересказом, а просто посоветую прочитать эту книжку, лучше в оригинале.

Правда, сразу хочу отметить, что книжка, в отличие от фильма, начинается (да и заканчивается) довольно печально. Фильм мне в этом плане понравился больше. Кроме того, в нем есть режиссерские домыслы, которые ставят проблемы, поднятые в книге, под другим углом. Ну и, разумеется, нельзя не отметить блестящую игру Одри Хепберн и, само собой, атмосферу старого фильма (это моя слабость..60-е..^^)

Теперь пара слов о "House of Flowers". Это один из очень немногих рассказов, оставивших у меня абсолютно непонятное ощущение после прочтения. Я даже как-то не уловила, что хотел сказать этим автор (хотя немного успокоилась, когда увидела, что не я одна осталась в таком недоумении:). История в грубом пересказе о девушке, живущей в неком подобии (извиняюсь) борделя. Однажды она услышала разговор о том, что такое любовь, и поняла, что сама ничего подобного не чувствовала. Затем она пошла к колдуну, который сказал ей,что когда ее ужалит пчела, она узнает любовь. Немного позже ее увидел какой-то крестьянин, который потом увлек ее за собой, они сблизились и решили жить вместе. У этого парня была бабка, о которой ходили слухи, что она ведьма. От нее-то и было много хлопот девушке. Чтобы извести невестку, ведьма подкидывала ей разную жуть (грудки грифа, змей..бррр), но девушка не подавала виду и варила из этого еду бабке (молодец какая)). Вскоре ведьма умерла (получается, из-за еды?оО), но ее дух преследовал девушку, и она поделилась своими страхами с мужем. Он же решил, что дух жаждет наказания для девушки, и придумал довольно странную вещь - привязать девушку к дереву, пока он будет на работе. Так и сделал. В это время две знакомые девушки увидели ее в таком странном виде, отвязали, и втроем они распили бутылочку рома, вспомнили былое...Предложили девушке вернуться. Она поколебалась, но попросила подруг привязать ее обратно к дереву. Сказано - сделано. И, когда муж возвращался с работы, она изобразила жесточайшие муки с мыслью "может, ему хоть теперь станет страшно"...На этом рассказ обрывается. И оставляет читателя в полном смятении.

Следующий рассказ - "A Diamond Guitar". Перед тем, как начать читать, я думала, что рассказ будет о чем-то светском, возможно о какой-то известной личности. Ан-нет. История о заключенных, живущих в какой-то отдаленной колонии. А та самая бриллиантовая гитара оказывается у нового заключенного (странное сочетание, преступник и такое..). Здесь с идеей оказалось как-то попроще, чем в предыдущем рассказе, но тоже, понятно не все.

Ну и напоследок, "A Christmas Memory". Рассказ-ностальгия, я бы сказала. Вообще, рассказы о Рождестве всегда обладают каким-то особенным шармом. Этот - не исключение. Более того, я бы назвала его притчей. Чувствуется какая-то возвышенность...И грусть. Не знаю, как кому, но меня рассказ впечатлил. Тоже посоветовала бы прочитать.

В целом, сборничек неплохой, но надо быть готовыми, что понимание идеи не будет даваться очень легко.
