Художники, как видно по многочисленным картинам их мастерских- использовали простые деревянные мольберты, удобные по конструкции, но внешне непрезентабельные.

В студии художницы Elizabet Vizhe-Lebren

Мольберты для гостиных и салонов, наоборот- делали в стилях, соответствующих моде или обстановке.
Их отделывали инкрустацией, росписью и резьбой.
Часто снизу у них была подставка-папка для гравюр или эскизов.
Можно было выставлять и смотреть их по очереди и менять по настроению.
