Earlier this month the sixth installment of the Hellsing Ultimate OVA series was announced. After speculation regarding the continuation of this series during the great anime distribution f-up of 2008, Mad House has apparently picked up the series and plans on retaining the original animators as well as the original voice actors. Which is great news considering that the Hellsing Ultimate series is one of the most exciting things happening right now. And those shiny metallic tins sure make it fun to spend $50+ on one single anime episode all over again.
There might be a better version of this trailer over here. But, realistically, the one above has Steven Hawking doing the voice over in the promo. Seriously, it doesnt get better than that. Hopefully they retain him for the English dub.
If your new to the Hellsing series and not sure if its for you, let me give you the scenario that brought me to the world of Hellsing.
Me: Hey whats all this Hellsing stuff about?
Fan: Oh, youve never seen it?
Me: Nope.
Fan: Well, its about like Nazis, Vampires, and Zombies. And Catholics. Do you like that stuff?
Me: Fuck yeah!
Obviously the street dates around OVA 5 and OVA 6 are still up for speculation. OVA 5 was released in Japan on November 21, 2008 so it should be out in the U.S. around 2011 or 2012, in time for the Apocalypse. And since OVA 6 was just announced this month, Im not even gonna worry about it, as Ill probably be a parent by then and Ill just let my son or daughter blog about it.
