The New York Press hailed Paul Robinson as the Helmut Newton of the new "Brat Pack". Robinson, who began as a fashion photographer in Paris, went from shooting stills of Oprah for her commercials, to doing unit photography on various feature films. This path led to Robinson being hired to do celebrity portraits for magazines including Details, Detour, Elle, Interview, George, Live, Out, House & Garden and Architectural Digest. Renee Zelweger, Jennifer Tilly, David Arquette, Ella Fitzgerald, B.B. King, Melissa Etheridge, Noah Wyle, The Beastie Boys, and Dermot Mulroney to name a few, have all posed for Robinson. In late 1996, Robinson formed "Tangled Minds", a multifaceted film production company specializing in commercial, music videos and long form. His directorial debut was a 30 minute film titled "Halfway House", which stars Dermot Mulroney, Rob Estes, Josie Bissett, Balthazar Getty, David Arquette, Sarah Buxton, La La Sloatman, and jazz legend Harry "Sweets" Edison.

His first exhibit, "Voyeur", became one of the hottest events in both L.A. and N.Y. The guest lists for both were virtually a who's who in the creative community. The exhibit combined a varied collection of black & white photos-a series of celebrity portraits featuring the young hot actors of today shot in a 1940's style; a jazz series of intimate moments with legendary musicians, and original images that are definitive Robinson; aggressive, sexual, and unapologetic for any moral transgressions that might be inferred.

Robinson's next show, "Manfleur", was a huge success. In this exhibit, the human subjects were used as props for, or intertwined with exotic flowers. "E" Entertainment did several different segments on Paul, as they documented the year and a half of shooting he did for this exhibit.

Paul's second project was "Moving Language-a series of vignettes written and directed by Robinson, which combines actors and musicians with a new visual approach to spoken word. "Moving Language is a visual interpretation of Robinson's original poetry. Robinson then went on to write, direct and produce the last Rock The Vote commercials and print ads, which featured celebrities in bondage. This campaign featured, Josie Bissett gagged & bound, Noah Wyle as an insubordinate marionette puppet, Coolio in a nightmare, and more. He then went on to direct a new 30 minute film titled "Dirty Down Under". Paul Robinson's next exhibit, LOVEEVERLAST, a black & white and color interpretation of Love, was sponsored by Absolut Vodka and gained him an even larger client list, including, Sydney Pollack, Renee Zelweger, Melissa Etheridge, Lawrence Bender, Bruce Cohen, as well as many collectors of contemporary photography. Robinson's next collection of photos, Reflections, which has shown in Los Angeles, New York and London, has been his most successful yet, and focused on capturing the mood in such places as Paris, Rome, Florence, and Bangkok, to name a few. Following this, Robinson debuted his next series, Between Clarity. He has just finished shooting his new series, In Camera, which is a 100% in camera incorporation of Architecture, Textures and Portraits in a frame of film.

Recently, Paul has been working on a series of permanent installations for restaurant and hotel designer, Dodd Mitchell.
