The Scout Movement

Scouting, also known as the Scout Movement, is a worldwide youth movement with the stated aim of supporting young people in their physical, mental and spiritual development, so that they may play constructive roles in society. The Scout Movement is free-will and indifferent.

Scouting was founded by Sir Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell in 1907 in Great Britain. Also he wrote book «Scouting for boys» in 1909. Works of Ernest Thompson Seton influenced on the Scout Movement too. Olive Baden-Powell and his sister Agnes Baden-Powell introduced the Girl Guides in 1910, a parallel movement for girls, sometimes named Girl Scouts. Scouting appeared in Russia in 1909. It was founded by Oleg Pantunov.

In our days the Scout Movement has 38 millions of members from whole world. Motto of scouts is “Be Prepared”.

                The Scout Movement has 3 main principles: duty to God, duty to Homeland and society, duty to oneself. All scouts give special promise. Scouting has its own traditions and symbols. The emblem is lily or trefoil. The emblems of different scouts’ organizations have many differences. Also scouts have special salute, handshake, tie and insignia.

There were some organizations like the Scout Movement. For example, Hitlerjugend or the Pioneer movement, but these organizations political directivity.

1.      Otaku (おたく/オタク, Otaku?) is a Japanese term used to refer to people with obsessive() interests, particularly anime, manga, and video games.

2.      In modern Japanese slang, the term otaku refers to a fan of any particular theme, topic, or hobby. Common uses are anime otaku (a fan of anime ), cosplay otaku and manga otaku (a fan of Japanese comic books), gēmu otaku (playing video games).

3.      Manga is comics what are drawed in a special style.

4.      A lot of Japanese manga stories are translated on different languages.

5.      The most famous manga stories are filmed. Usually manga become anime and rarely real film.

6.      I think one of reasons why anime is so popular is  score.

7.      Cosplay (コスプレ, kosupure?), short for "costume play", is a type of performance art whose participants outfit themselves, with often-elaborate costumes and accessories, as a specific character. Characters are usually sourced in various Japanese and East Asian media, including manga, anime, tokusatsu, comic books, graphic novels, video games, and fantasy movies.

8.      Cosplay in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom differs from Japanese cosplay culture in some ways.

9.      Japanese cosplay otaku always try to look like personages. They make or buy special costumes and try not to forget details.

10.  Cosplay otaku from US don’t care about details of costumes. They like get together and spend a good time.

11.  Europeans began a tradition of organizing different anime festivals.

13.  They make sketches and favorite episodes and try to expose character of personages.

14.  Otaku like listening to music form anime and collecting good fanart and funfiction of favorite fandoms.

17.  Anime isn’t novelty for Russian.

18.  The first otaku appeared in Russia at the beginning of 1990s.

19.   The VII Yearly Moscow Anime Festival was in November in 2008.

20.  Anime, manga or cospley is hobby for otaku.

21.  Internet plays a big role in otaku life.

22.  Being otaku has some pluses and minuses.

23.  Negative side:

- Otaku spend a lot of time in Internet.

- Some otaku prefer reading manga and watching anime to reading books.

24.  Positive side:

-  People can know more about Japanese culture.

-  Teens when they get together aren’t dangerous for society.

-  Not all anime is light comedy. There are historical and modern dramas and also fantasy and about future of mankind what explore actual questions.

-  Teens from different countries get their special language for communication
