Kiwoom has recruited a new foreign pitcher, Enmanuel de Heissus.

 

Kiwoom announced on the 17th that it has signed a contract with left-hander Enmanuel de Jesus for a total of $800,000, including $600,000 in annual salary and $200,000 in options as a new foreign pitcher.

 

Born in Venezuela in 1996, he joined the Boston Red Sox through an international amateur free agency in 2014. He played for the Boston Red Sox, the San Francisco Giants, and the Miami Marlins in minor league teams for the next nine seasons. He played 178 games in the Minor League, recording 49 wins, 45 losses and 4.01 ERA in 749.1 innings. He also played as a representative for Venezuela at the World Baseball Classic in 2023. In the Major League, he pitched in two games and posted an ERA of 11.37.

 

With a robust physique measuring 190 centimeters and weighing 93 kilograms, Jesus throws fast balls up to 150 kilometers per hour as well as sliders, curves, and changeups. He has the ability to control his speed as well as fast balls, which enables stable operation of the game.

 

He also has experience in the ball and strike determination system (ABS), which will be introduced to the KBO league from next year, so he is expected to adapt quickly.

 

After completing his contract, Jesus said, "I'm grateful to have a chance to start anew in Korea. Thinking that I am playing in the KBO League, I have high expectations. I will prepare hard so that I can join in the best condition. I will become a player who can contribute to the victory of the Kiwoom Heroes next season."
