the whole kit and caboodle

Meaning: a collection of things; a lot, pack, or group
Translation: вся куча, всё вместе
Reason: A funny-sounding phrase used by Scoty in "The Trouble with Tribbles", when he explains how he got rid of tribbles: "Before they [Klingons] went into warp, I transported the whole kit and caboodle into their engine room".
Since Scotty is a Scotsman, at first I thought that this might be a Scottish expression. But it seems that, though used in the UK as well, the phrase is of American origin.

Я все-таки не понимаю, чем этот phaser gun стреляет так, что может парализовать, может убить, а может, например, расплавить металл или отколоть кусок породы. Поэтому красный (или иногда синий) луч никаких возражений не вызывает: будем считать, что он по природе своей виден человеческому глазу именно так.
Но почему же от него летят брызги?


А вот эта моя самая любимая: тут не только два красных луча с синими брызгами, тут еще и какое-то загадочное - блокирующее, но для невооруженного глаза, разумеется, невидимое - силовое поле (полусферой вокруг змеиной головы), которое под воздействием phaser guns зеленеет!:)
