Lee Jeong-hoo (26), an outfielder for the Major League Baseball (MLB) San Francisco Giants, missed the first game of the exhibition game.
Rest as planned due to side pain
Lee Jeong-hoo did not play in the 2024 MLB exhibition game against the Chicago Cubs held at Scottsdale Stadium in Arizona, USA on the 25th (Korean time).
I took a break as planned. The San Francisco Chronicle, a local media outlet in San Francisco, reported on the 24th, “Lee Jeong-hoo was left out of the lineup for the exhibition game on the 25th due to mild side pain.”
Lee Jung-hoo, who signed a six-year contract with San Francisco for $113 million (approximately 148.4 billion won) in December last year, has been highly anticipated even before his debut. On the 15th, San Francisco manager Bob Melvin said, “It would be shocking if Lee Jeong-hoo does not appear as the number one hitter in the opening game (of the regular season),” and selected him as the top hitter early on.
San Francisco lost 4-8 to the Cubs in the first game of this year's exhibition game. Japanese hitter Yoshitomo Tsutsugo, who signed a minor league contract with San Francisco, recorded 1 hit and 2 RBI in 2 at-bats.
San Francisco will play its second exhibition game against the Texas Rangers on the 26th.
