bad manners :)

Четверг, 02 Июня 2005 г. 17:20 + в цитатник
"Thelma was her girlfriend," Carey quickly interjected.
"That is a pitiful label for what we shared," Eileen scolded the policewoman. "We were together for forty-three years until she had the bad manners to die on me."

if looks could kill.

If looks could kill, Erin would have been walking through the tunnel of light at that moment to meet up with relatives who had passed on before her.
As though waking next to a thoroughly confused person with an irate one a mere few steps away were something she did on a regular basis, the peach shampoo user smiled dazzlingly. "Good morning baby," she softly uttered in such an angelic voice. Despite her perplexed state, Erin wouldn't have terribly minded hearing that voice again.

These below are excerpts from hilariously humorous story I found on the net one night. Even now, years later, I return to it when I'm down. I don't expect for anyone else to understand anything here, but heck, it's a good thing this is my personal diary :):):)

and if it strikes you as funny, too, visit http://www.xenafiction.net/scrolls/chelle_atu1.hts yourselves.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stephanie bummed around San Francisco for six more days, fighting off weasels, sharks, and evangelists.

She suspected that her cut offs and tank top needed laundering, but her nose wasn't reporting on the world anymore, which was probably a good thing. With a fresh beer between her thighs, she selected "drive" and headed north on I-215, desperate to avoid Los Angeles. Sometime around 9:43am, two-thirds of Steph's poor addled brain stopped working. Using only her hindbrain, she maneuvered Brittanie the Desoto on autopilot through the morning and afternoon. When she came back to her senses, the sun was already going down, and she'd taken a turnoff for SR-99. Stephanie groaned and lit a Camel. She had just driven in a two-year circle. Steph was less than ten miles from Bakersfield.

Barney the Cat took one look at Vito and let out an unearthly squall, puffing up all his fur to appear twice his size. Vito whimpered and peed, cringing in terror. In the blink of an eye, Barney snatched him off his feet, shaking him like a rat, and accusing him of everything from being an illegal alien, to being a communist, to being a pedophile. Steph had finally separated them as Brittanie the Car shook on her springs in hysterics.

Gotta concentrate, gotta think clearly, Steph thought to herself. Fine with me, her hindbrain croaked as it passed out from the stress. Of course, we'll do what we can, her midbrain said reassuringly. Her forebrain just gave a nervous chuckle.

Steph believed things like that should have names. People named their pets and boats. They named their children. She'd named her car and they'd thought she was crazy because she talked to it. Her cat, too. Yet they'd never figured out how she'd solved so many crimes on her beat all those years ago. They'd never identified her informants or learned where her information had come from. They would never have believed that Brittanie the Desoto had learned more, talking to the vehicles on the streets, than a dozen detectives could have learned by questioning the neighbors. They would never have believed that Barney the Cat had found the locations of counterband, stolen goods, hideouts, and hidden weapons. He'd prowled the dark alleys and rooftops, spying out the haunts and doings of nocturnal criminals; listening and reporting on their plots with a glee that bordered on mania. It had been a variation on his natural hunting instinct, a part of his catness.

When she got back to SR-101, Stephanie stuck out her thumb as she had on that June afternoon in Bakersfield, eleven years ago. She presented herself to the Christmas traffic as a drunken woman, her legs covered in mud, carrying a handgun and a pack of Camels…even in California, it was almost an hour before anyone stopped.

Steph spent most of her evenings downstairs in the garage with Lizzie, watching DVD movies on the flat screen plasma TV she'd set up there. Lizzie Cooper adored the cinema, laughing, fretting, and crying with the action. Steph kept a couch, microwave, and refrigerator on a piece of carpet in the middle bay of her garage. It reminded her of the apartment she'd lost. Her proper living room upstairs was seldom actually used. Many an early morning found Stephanie curled up asleep on the couch, empty long necks and ashtrays cluttering the floor, the TV screen awash with static, while Lizzie dozed peacefully in the bay beside her. It was a time of bonding, and on other nights, like Archie had loved to do, they'd sit in the yard with the lights off, watching the stars.

Stephanie's hindbrain was really getting off on the titillation, while her forebrain was overloading on the miasma of incest. Connie's parents were siblings, etc., etc., etc.…at least it explained the webbing between Con's toes and some of the skeletal aberrations that Steph had noticed. I've got to get out of here, her forebrain screamed. I want to watch, her hindbrain chuckled. As usual, Stephanie's midbrain was the voice of reason. Let's compromise and get another beer, it said.

kitchen stuff.

Denise pretended affront and said "I see my life is being planned well enough without me so I shall remove myself to the kitchen to sulk and check on the progress of dinner." She left to the continued chuckles of the other two women.

I can't promise you proper home cooking, but it is food, it's cooked and I did prepare it at home. The resemblances end there I'm afraid.

"Boy," sighed Jennie, happily, "one cooking lesson and I get breakfast in bed!"

Can't say that I'm any kind of authority on sex, but junk food now, I'm a professor.

Now me, I could understand; breaking rules for me comes naturally. But you are about as conservative and uptight as mayonnaise. Saints have gone farther astray than you have.

If tea isn't your cup of coffee, get yourself a beer.

I'm on a healthy diet of wine, women, and song.

Dr. Bates' chilli was a bit like his sense of humour, quiet and deadly.

Duh! I feel like death warmed-over...

Sarah McLachlan. Time

Четверг, 02 Июня 2005 г. 15:52 + в цитатник

Time here,
all but means nothing, just shadows that move across the wall
They keep me company, but they don't ask of me
they don't say nothing at all.
And I need just a little more silence
And I need just a little more time
But you send your thieves to me
silently stalking me
Dragging me into your wall
Would you give me no choice in this?
I know you can't resist, trying reopen a sore

Leave me be, I don't want to argue
I'd just get confused and I'd come all undone
If I agree, well, it's just to appease you
Cause I don't remember what we're fighting for

You see love-- a tight, thorny thread that you spin in a circle of gold
You have me to hold me
a token for all to see
captured to be yours alone
And I need just a little more silence,
and I just need a little more time
The courage to pull away
there will be hell to pay
the deeper you cut to the bone

Leave me be, I don't want to argue
I'd just get confused and I'd come all undone
If I agree, well, it's just to appease you
Cause I don't remember what we're fighting for

Time here,
all but means nothing,
just shadows that move across the wall
They keep me company,
but they don't ask of me
they don't say nothing at all.

Leave me be, I don't want to argue
I'd just get confused and I'd come all undone
If I agree, well, it's just to appease you
Cause I don't remember what we're fighting for

Soon it was impossible not to sway, and then dance, to the catchy tune. The broom was no longer a cleaning implement but a dance partner and the porch a dance floor.
"Come here often?" she asked the broom. Hearing no reply she said, "Strong, silent type, huh? I can get into that. Say, you don't have much of a figure but you've got all the right moves."

and forther on goes like this....

Has it ever occurred to you that if you used some of those moves somewhere beside your back porch you might not need to be dancing with a broom? Honestly, girl, if women were remotely my cup of tea I would be on you like white on rice.

"Haaa! No sleep last night. girl, you have to calm down that social life of yours. Ohh I forgot you don't have one of those!"
He chuckled because he knew she would have a look on her face that could crack a mirror from 40 paces off.

someday.

Четверг, 02 Июня 2005 г. 14:25 + в цитатник
Someday when we have been together for a very long time, we'll turn out the lights and slow dance on the porch in out bathrobes. I'll write you love notes in large print and tape them to the fridge. You'll finish my stories and I'll borrow your glasses. We'll wonder where the time went. And each night we'll roll to the middle of our old bed, into one anothers arms, where we'll kiss and touch and dream the secrets that only old lovers know.
