Educators work closely with families to support each baby’s routines, comfort and developmental needs. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Great Beginnings is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children. Our long day care services are open 50 weeks of the year, closing only over the Christmas/New Year period.Our Sessional Kindergarten services are aligned with school terms, operating approximately 40 weeks of the year. Children completing their three or four-year-old funded kindergarten program in Long Day Care will receive a subsidised childcare amount. This subsidy will be deducted from their fees in weekly installments throughout the year.
From the moment you book a tour with us through to enrolment and your child’s first day, we aim to create a welcoming and inclusive environment. Our educators have been with the centre for many years, giving children and families familiar faces from day to day. Each child’s Individual Learning Plan starts with their interests, strengths and what educators notice in everyday play, with updates shared as children grow and practise new skills. As a result, we aim to make every child and parent feel welcome in our community, an approach which drives our experienced educators to form a genuine connection with each and every family. Cardinia Lakes ELC is Pakenham’s newest Early Learning centre catering for children 6 weeks of age to school age. Our Early Learning centre also has 3 and 4 year old kindergarten 5 days a week 5 hours a day with access to our early learning centre hours before and after our sessions.
Climbing frames, a mud pit, bike tracks, cubby houses and a zen garden give children different places for active play, nature-based discovery and quieter moments outside. Children may attend the services provided they will be three or four years of age for the relevant service, as of 30 April in the year of their attendance. My daughter is always enjoying her days with different kinds of fun activities at Aspire Huntly Village. Great environment and all the staff are very nice, friendly, and you always feel welcome. I believe that for a child to excel, they must first feel celebrated for who they are. To achieve this, I place immense value on building strong, transparent relationships with our families. You are your child’s first teacher, and I view our role as a partnership—working hand-in-hand to support your child’s unique journey. Indoors, children learn in purpose-built spaces with interactive and natural resources. For children with additional needs or behaviours of concern, we collaborate with inclusion support professionals, allied health teams, and our Kindergarten Improvement Advisor. These partnerships help us apply for additional support, develop strategies, and create inclusive, nurturing environments where all children can thrive. Educators introduce open-ended materials and invitations to explore, such as building, measuring and experimenting. Through shared conversations and investigation, children develop curiosity, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

We are able to walk across the community in a group with our large stroller, visit the school library and have the chance to join in the group activities planned by our OSHC facility. These celebrate a child’s journey at the centre and includes photographs, artwork, summative assessments, ACEQUA developmental checklists and learning stories. We work to support families in their parenting role and share information of benefit to their child’s development.
