The secret love
My soul its secret has, my life's mystery
A love eternal in a moment to read:
Evil is hopeless, so I had to keep quiet,
And one that did not ever knew.
Alas! I have passed by her unnoticed,
Always at his side and yet lonely;
And I have made through my time on earth,
Not daring to ask and having naught received.
For her, though God has made her gentle and tender,
She followed her way distraught and without hearing
The murmur of love that round her steps.
In the austere duty devoutly faithful,
She will say, reading these lines full of it:
"Who is this woman?" And will not understand!
