In this three-act opera, tragedy ensues when the heartless title character coldly rejects the advances of the passionate, young Tatiana. With music by Tchaikovsky and libretto by Konstantin Shilovsky and Tchaikovsky, it was first performed in 1879 at the Malyi Theatre in Moscow. This performance by the Northwestern University School of Music was captured in HD by NUAMPS on February 23rd, 2006
