Пирс Пол Рид (англ. Piers Paul Read; род. 7 марта 1941, Биконсфилд, графство Бакингемшир) — британский писатель. Сын поэта, литературного и художественного критика, куратора и педагога Герберта Рида. Член Королевского итературного общества. Окончил Кембриджский университет (1962). Рид является вице-президентом Гильдии писателей-католиков Англии и Уэльса, и во многих его произведениях заметно сильное влияние католической мысли — в частности, зачастую главными героями Рида являются закоренелые злодеи, в итоге раскаивающиеся и обращающиеся к Богу. Рид испытывает устойчивый интерес и симпатию к Германии, помещая там действие многих своих книг начиная со второго романа «Юнкера» (1968). Значительная часть творчества Рида — документальные романы и исследования. Наиболее известная его книга — «Живые: История спасшихся в Андах» (англ. Alive: The Story of the Andes Survivors; 1974) — подробно рассказывает историю авиакатастрофы в Андах, после которой 16 выживших на протяжении более чем двух месяцев пытались выбраться к людям. Dear Beau, thank you so much for your amazing reply! I know you are busy but you still found time to answer me! I think we can be good friends despite the difference in our ages. Although old I feel very much alive. My name is Oleg but my surname is Bayburin. I live in Russia within the city of Kaliningrad which is near the Baltic Sea. I'm also a doctor and work in emergency service. It's rather different in Russia than in America. I look after children and visit them at the ambulance. Parents can call me if they have an issue with the health of their child. If I can help them at home I’ll do it and they keep on with their treatment. But if it’s a serious case I will take them to the hospital. I work 24 hours and then I have 72 hours rest. I have a lot of hobbies. Most of all I like the English language I have studied it since I was in school but for a long time I haven’t had the chance to use it practically. I’ve studied English on my own but I wish to know the language better. I help the teens of my friends to know English better but I have my own method of teaching them, which, I do for free. I would be very appreciative if you can pay attention to my mistakes. I enjoy reading fiction, and using my computer for education, but I don't like to play computer games. Most of all I like to improve my education. From time to time I like to sing songs in Russian and English. Miley Cyrus is my favorite singer but I like others too. I like to watch clever movies and I like actress Natalie Portman. She is a clever young woman who knows several foreign languages. I think science is a gymnastic for brain.
