additional instructions for 2. Variante:

Double front panel like shown.
In order to remove the width of the waist darts take away same amount at side seam. The diagram leaves that to the already existing knowledge of the patternmaker, so here is my instruction: Draw a perpendicular to the waist line through Äe down to the hips. Make a cut along that line and one on the hip line. Pinch away the width of the waist dart and a little wedge on the hip line will appear.
All other cuts like shown. Close the bust darts and the new darts will appear accordingly. Centre front is grainline.

The seam marker on page 57 is really nice, it doesn't use chalk powder but thread. It has a needle like those of blind stitch hemmers. You have to twist the handle and it makes a little loop which is then cut to a certain length. Works with any material from thick to thin.
