TABLE WITH SEVRES ROYAL MANUFACTURE PORCELAIN





This fabulous piece rests on a tripod black wood leg. It's ornated with a rich chiselled and double patina gild-bronze that reinforces the prestigious character of this furniture. Actually, brilliant and mat bronze contrast highlight sculpture work, pattern and sober black wood. Base ornated by scroll ribbons pedestal, foliages interlaces. Three important acanthus consoles, on low and top part, support the central stem. They are decorated with mouldings; scroll ribbons flutes, joined by laurel and flowers garland like roses, daisies, peonies.

Louis XVI-Style Sevres Table
monumental rosewood and ormolu palace table is beautifully embellished with the finest Sèvres porcelain depicting Louis XVI and high ranking ladies of his court. the king is hand-painted on a large inset plaque, while portraits of such renowned ladies as Marie Antoinette and the Princesse de Lamballe grace 17 surrounding plaques. Louis XVI plaque is signed “David/Sèvres”. Circa 1860.

Dresden porcelain-mounted cabinet with gilded bronze mounts set into a fine, ebonized cabinet. The exquisitely hand painted porcelain mounts feature romantic floral and figural decoration, and the central plaque depicts a couple playing backgammon with an interested onlooker. Exceptional detail and expert craftsmanship went into the creation of such a piece as this, proving to be very costly indeed. Beautiful, complete condition. Circa 1875.

The top surmounted by a cartouche shaped mirror flanked to each side by candelabra above a frieze containing three drawers each mounted with porcelain plaques of courting couples. Lady's Writing Table
Veneered in tulipwood on oak; mounted with Sevres porcelain and gilt bronze. One plaque carries the Sevres date letter and the decorator's mark of Antoine-Toussaint Cornaille (working 1755-1800). This is the earliest of eleven writing tables made to the same design between 1765 and 1774 by Martin Carlin.

The mirror and stand was intended for a lady's dressing table. It was probably the 'Lady's Toilet' offered at auction in 1758. The concave recess at the top of the mirror was probably for a watch movement; at the side and the front are two apertures, possibly for a clockwork movement or musical box.
