I made stitch pattern similar to stitch pattern of winter collection Paco Rabanne 2002.  The collection maybe is not actual for now, but pattern, I think, can be useful for many cases.

The base of the pattern is cluster stitch of 7 d. tr / tr, which gives good relief and thickness for thing. (Here and below I will call bobbles as clusters, because bobbles crochet with cluster crochet technique).

I saw not much patterns with such good relief and texture. One of them have clusters (bobbles) or puff stitch from both sides of pattern - front and back. It can be good for such thing like scarf, when we need that both sides look the same. But for such things like hat, coat, sweater or for home decor it is not nessesary.

Another part of patterns have bobbles which were formed on back side of pattern.

When we work claster stitch only from one side (at front) we have only one type of bobbles which look more accurate. Moreover, the opposite side (back) becomes smooth and it can be very useful too.

I worked this pattern like multicolor to show it opportunities for using different colours of yarn. But it looks good in one colour too.

I think, that this bobble stitch pattern will be good for clothes (hat, coat, sweater, decoration of slippers and socks, ect) and for home decor like pillows and carpets, or square pattern for afgan.

The work begins with chain foundation multiples 6 chs + 2 chs.

All clusters work into chain of previous row (not in space of 2 chs). It gives more relief and texture for pattern.

How to crochet cluster stitch?

1. Yarn over hook 2 times.

2. Insert hook into given stitch and work incomplete double treble / treble. Yarn over 2 times.

3. And work 6 incomplete double treble / treble in the same stitch. Yarn over.

4. Drop the yarn through all loops on the hook and form the bobble at front side. Yarn over.

5. Drop the yarn through all loops on the hook. You got bobble on front side.

6. Finish step witn 3 chs and 1dc/sc into given stitch.

Making 7 d.tr / tr clusters requires some crochet experience and patience, but results are worth it!

If you are a crochet beginner and have some difficulties with such clusters, or if you don''t want to spending much time for making them, you can replace the clusters with puff stitch. You will get another beautiful pattern.

How to crochet puff stitch?

The base of puff stitch is half treble / half double crochet stitch. 

1.  Yarn over.

2. Insert hook into given stitch, yarn over and drop the yarn through the stitch (1 incomplete half treble / half double crochet stitch). Yarn over.

3. Work 6 incomplete half treble / half double crochet stitch in the same manner in the same stitch. Yarn over.

4. Drop the yarn through all incomplete half treble / half double crochet stitches on the hook (2 loops remain). Yarn over.

5. Drop the yarn through all loops on the hook.
