Hi my name is Michele Roos and today I'd like to show you how to make these Camelot Rose flowers.
Hi my name is Michele Roos and today I'd like to show you how to make these Camelot Rose flowers.
To make these flowers I've used my own handmade paper but using lightweight cardstock will work just as good. I've cut out 8 flower shapes in total - 4 small, 2 medium and 2 large.
I've then cut down into each petal to open them up a bit more.
This part is optional - for extra depth I've inked the edges using Tea Dye Distress Ink
Now on the 4 largest flowers, crumpled up each petal till they resemble the above picture. Put them to oneside.
Next step is to emboss the 4 smallest flowers on the right side, till they resemble the above picture.
Take one of the flowers that you've just embossed and pop a small amount of glue in the middle. Now place the flower between your thumb and forefinger and gently twist it back and forth until it resembles the picture above.
Now take another of the smallest flowers and pop some glue in the middle. Now place the rolled up flower on top of this one and gently squeeze the bottom flower petals up so that they close up. Keep doing this until all 4 flowers have been used up and it should look like the above photo. If you wanted only to make minature roses then you can stop here but I'm going to carry on.
With the 4 largest flowers that you crumpled up earlier, carefully start to unfold each petal. Don't open them up fully, keep the edges of the petals still curled up if possible.
With the embossing pen, very lightly emboss the centre of each flower till they resemble the picture.
Taking one of the largest flowers, dab some glue in the centre and then place the other largest flower on top. Keep doing this until you've used all the flowers up ending with the rose bud.
For the leaves I've used a star shape and emboss the edges till they curl up.
And here is the end result.
