Образование

Сначала группа выступала на разогреве у других команд, но затем, в марте 2006 года, началась концертная программа «Ночь навсегда, День никогда» (Forever Night Never Day), где 30 Seconds to Mars уже были хэдлайнерами.

Прошлый год принес группе множество самых разных наград. Например, клип группы «The Kill» был постоянным участником MTV's Elite 8. На фестивале MTV «Video Music Awards-2006» он получил премию «Mtv2 Award», а так же награду в номинации «Лучшее рок видео» (Best Rock Video). Кроме того, уже самому Джареду была присуждена награда в номинации «Принц Тьмы» (Prince of Darkness) на фестивале «Fuse Fangoria Chainsaw Awards» 28 октября 2006 года.


В декабре 2006 года группа выпустила клип на песню «From Yesterday», полная версия которого длится тринадцать с половиной минут. «From Yesterday» — это первый американский видеоклип, который полностью снят на территории Китайской Народной Республики. В данный момент в производстве находится видео на песню A Beautiful Lie, его выход должен состояться буквально со дня на день. Группа снимала клип в Гренландии в конце сентября, его режиссером стал Джаред, причем на этот раз под своим именем. Деньги, полученные от скачивания этого видео с официального сайта, планируется передать на благотворительные цели.

Актерская карьера
Первой по-настоящему серьезной ролью Джареда Лето стала в 1994 году роль Джордана Каталано в культовом американском телесериале «Моя так называемая жизнь» (My So-Called Life), где он играл вместе с Клер Дейнс. Уже в то время Джаред стал идеалом для множества американских девушек-подростков. Затем последовали съемки с Алисией Сильверстоун в независимом кино «Крутые и чокнутые» (The Cool&The Crazy). И дебютом Лето на большом экране стала эпизодическая роль в фильме 1995 года «Лоскутное одеяло» (How to Make An American Quilt).

В 1996 году последовала работа в фильме «Последний из великих королей» (Summer Fling), в котором он играл одну из главных ролей вместе с Кристиной Риччи.


В следующем году Лето получает роль, предназначавшуюся первоначально Тому Крузу, — в фильме «Префонтейн» (Prefontaine). В 2000 году последовала главная роль в фильме «Реквием по мечте» (Requiem for a Dream) Даррена Аронофски — одна из наиболее успешных актерских работ Джареда на сегодняшний день. Этот фильм, снятый по одноименной книге американского писателя Хьюберта Селби-мл. В 2004 году Джаред сыграл роль Гефестиона, друга и соратника Македонского, в историческом эпосе Оливера Стоуна «Александр» (Alexander). Актерский состав картины впечатляет — Колин Фаррелл, Анжелина Джоли и Энтони Хопкинс. Фильм не получил особого признания в Америке, но приобрел поклонников по всему миру.


Последней на сегодняшний день работой Джареда стала роль убийцы Джона Леннона в фильме «Глава 27» (Chapter 27), премьера которого состоялась в январе 2007 года. Для этой роли Джареду пришлось значительно поправиться, что изменило его почти до неузнаваемости и, по словам актера, очень помогло вжиться в образ. Действительно, в «Главе 27» сходство Лето с настоящим Марком Чепменом просто поразительно.

В настоящее время Джаред снимается в фильме режиссера Яко ван Дормела (Jaco van Dormael) «Мистер Никто» (Mr. Nobody), который должен выйти на экраны уже в будущем году.

Джаред вегетарианец. Однажды он был отмечен крупнейшей в мире организацией по борьбе за права животных «PETA» как один из самых сексуальных вегетарианцев.

А также два года подряд — в 1996-м и 1997-м — входил в список 50 самых красивых людей планеты по версии журнала «People».

Джареду даже удалось попасть на страницу ежедневного календаря «365 самых глупых когда-либо сказанных фраз», выпускаемого «Workman Publishings». Его цитата была использована для 10 Января 2007 года: «Мне всегда нравился Сатурн. Но я также испытываю некоторую симпатию к Плутону, потому как я слышал, что его лишили статуса планеты, и, мне кажется, что это несправедливо. Затея так и не была реализована: музыканты группы были решительно против, и обосновали это тем, что появление Диас в клипе сконцентрирует внимание зрителей исключительно на ней, а до группы и самой песни никому не будет дела.
