The visit turned out to be a history lesson as well, with the kids getting pictures with famous people like Mahatma Gandhi and Barack Obama! Ours were 3 & 7 at the time of the visit, so I can only assume that kids that are slightly older would get more out of it than ours did. I am looking forward to looking through the photos when they are older and talking about who the people were and what they achieved. Ironically this was one of the best things to do in Sydney for kids, our kids at least. There are 200 stairs to the Pylon Lookout and we thought it was doable when doing our planning. What we didn’t take into account was that it was already a steep climb up onto the bridge (from Harbour Level) and we’d been walking all morning. Also, sushi is very healthy, and Japanese children are said to have the healthiest diet in the world. This is a fun class for kids and an excellent way to teach them something. The famous kids’ sushi-making class should be reserved in advance if you’re seeking things to do with kids in Sydney on a rainy day. Simply catch a train from Sydney Central Station, and within two hours, you’ll arrive at Wentworth Falls, Leura, or Katoomba. Here, you can explore popular tourist attractions or enjoy a few bushwalks. The Art Gallery of NSW houses an impressive array of colonial, modern and contemporary Australian art, as well as international works and touring exhibitions. Treat your whole family to a cinematic experience as you enjoy blockbuster movies, and documentaries in an immersive setting with a large screen and cutting-edge audio. It’s also the 5th oldest natural history museum in the world so that alone makes it a pretty cool place to visit. One of the most iconic things to do in Sydney is climbing up one of the world’s most iconic bridges – the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb. There is usually a rest area next to the play area for parents to rest, and there is also a dining area, which is convenient for children to replenish energy during the play. Sydney is a great city for the family with plenty to entertain the young and young at heart.
